Robert Anthony Toledo

Captain Robert "Bobby/Tico" A. Toledo of Tampa, Fla., passed away on September 1, 2020 at the age of 64. He graduated from Tampa Catholic High School Class of ‘74. Served in the U.S. Air Force and then obtained his Fire Science Degree.

He was employed 27 1/2 years with the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue retiring as Captain, badge #40. He was a charter member who was one of the original three officers assigned to the HAZMAT program. His legacy carries on 40 years later through all of the firefighters he mentored. He was a Master Mason in A.W. Windhorst #185 and member of Gasparilla Krewe Knights of Saint John Hillsborough Fire.

Bobby had a passion of playing his guitar for others and was thrilled to make someone smile through his music. He also loved to go fishing and hanging out with his café con Leche buddies every Thursday morning at King Corona in Ybor. Most of all he loved spending time with his family but especially his pride and joy, his grandchildren.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Tony F. Toledo; mother, Vilma T. Seber; brother, Tony O. Toledo. Survivors include his loving wife of 40 1/2 years, Mary; daughter, Jacqueline (Ruben) Cortes; son, Norman Gino (Elizabeth) Giovenco; daughter, Gina (Marco) Solano; siblings, Gerald (Beverly), Rosemarie (Mike), Gail Toledo; seven granddaughters; one grandson; numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories 4207 E. Lake Ave, Tampa, FL, 33610. Interment will follow in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, Tampa, Fla. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
