He is survived by his wife, Olivia Eileen Sharkey. His children John Clayton Sharkey and Cyndie Sharkey who reside in Colorado. He is also survived by his grandchildren Craig Sharkey of Virginia and his granddaughter Jaime Sharkey of Colorado. His great grandson, Nathan Sharkey resides in Virginia.
Bob was born in New York, New York on August 28, 1927. He married after World War II and had two children, John and Cyndie.. While in New York, he served as Executive Vice President of Horn Construction Company. He moved to Maryland in 1979 where he met his wife, Eileen. They were married in Fort Lauderdale Fl. in 1981.
Bob was very accomplished in his career and absolutely loved his work. He served as Executive Vice President of David Nelson Construction Company until his retirement at age 89. He thoroughly enjoyed his 30 plus years with DNCC.
Bob also received a master’s degree in counseling psychology and volunteered at the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch.
Bob enjoyed traveling, debating issues and was a lifetime student, always ready for new knowledge and new ideas.
A celebration of Bob’s life is scheduled for June 27th at 1 pm, at Blount & Curry Macdill, 605 S. Macdill Ave in Tampa. Rev James D. Friesen will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bob’s life.
