My Bob, My Honey, Bob Rowe went to be with The Lord October 18, 2023. I will forever miss him. We were married for 30 years and I am so thankful for all of them. My heart is broken! He was the most kind, sweet, caring and loving person and a person who gave years to helping others through their circumstances.
He was born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania on Oct. 24, 1940 and passed on just a few days before his 83rd Birthday. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Herbert and Doris Rowe of Burnham, Pennsylvania, his brother Gary Rowe and his son, Dane Rowe. He is survived by his brother Darwin Rowe and his wife Debbie of Lewistown, Pennsylvania, his nephew Darren Rowe and his wife Jill and their three children, of Burnham, Pennsylvania and by Candice Rowe Daily, her husband Michael and their two sons of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. Also surviving are the three children of his deceased brother Gary, who are Dee Ann, Jill and Matthew. Bob graduated from Chief Logan High School in 1958 and soon after, moved to Columbus, Ohio and started working in the automobile industry. He fought hard and long but his body just gave out.
He was the father of two wonderful sons, Mark Rowe of Richmond, VA and his wife Beth and his beloved Dane, who passed in November 1988. He had three step-children, Grant Larson of Punta Gorda, Florida and his wife Madeline, Eric Larson of Bradenton, Florida and his wife Jean and Suzanne Larson of Winter Springs, Florida and her fiancé Doug Peterson. He didn’t consider them as Step-Children. He loved them like his own and they loved him. Linda Lipsitt, of Michigan, was his Dane’s wife at the time of Dane’s death, and he has always loved her like a daughter.
He was the grandfather to eighteen grandchildren and known to them as Pappy & Papster. They are Monica Parolisi and her husband John, Peter Larson III, Erica Charles and her husband Laith, Elizabeth Larson, Ivana Larson, Zack Larson and his wife Emili, Max Larson, Thea Fischer and her husband Ryan, Alexander Bacovsky, Shea Bacovsky, Oliver Bacovsky, Patrick Bacovsky, Sarah Ball and her husband Chris, Maggie Rowe, Ellie Rowe, Alyssa Fitch and her husband Dustin, Hunter LaFlesh, Brenden LaFlesh. From all these wonderful ‘Grands’, twenty-three Great-Grands are added to ones he loved.
Bob spent over forty years in the Automobile business, having owned a Lincoln-Mercury dealership in Sarasota, Florida and retired from that industry in 2010. In his last ten years, he came out of retirement and worked as the manager and salesman for Golf Cars of Tampa Bay. He loved being there, all his customers and all his co-workers, Ryan, Keith, Jeff and Kim.
He loved Golf, Hunting and Fishing and was active in all three for many years. He was a 33rd degree Mason and a Shriner. Most important to him, more than anything, was his church, Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church of Tampa, Florida and his strong faith..
He will always be missed and loved, not just by me but many.
In lieu of flowers, please send any contributions to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 6100 Memorial Hwy. Tampa, Florida 33615.
A Celebration of his life, for Bob, will be held at his church on Saturday, November 18th at One in the afternoon.
