Bob-

You have been gone a little over a week and life just doesn't seem right without you.  You would have loved all the flowers people sent.  I hope that we made you proud.  There aren't enough words to say how much you are missed and how heartbroken we all are.  We are doing the best we can to pick up the pieces you left behind.  I know one day I'll see you again but until then you'll live on in my heart.

I was saddened to hear of Bob’s sudden passing – a day too late to attend the memorial.

I hadn't seen Bob since I bumped into you all at the local art show  years ago, but I knew him & was surely his foremost cheerleader when Vanguard managed Meadowood Condos. In addition to just generally being a nice & fun person, he showed exceptional talents - very pragmatic - & tactful in deescalating tempers & informing the misguided. Someone above mentioned “even temperament”.

I watched your very moving video  - surely a family treasure for generations to come. 

My heart goes out to his family & friends who will miss a special person.

Bob was a neighbor who loved his dogs that have since passed but when I would be walking mine he’d be out there with his. I’m sure they were there to meet him at heavens gate and took him over the rainbow bridge. He will be missed 

My sincere condolences go out to Janet, and the whole family. I am still in shock and deeply saddened hearing this news.  I will never forget seeing that smile and joking sense of humor in the office. Even when he was not there you just felt like he was and uplifting with keeping everyone together. 
 I know I’ve not been working with Vanguard very long, but I am truly Blessed with the time I have been to get to know Bob. Vanguard Management Group is a truly warm remarkable place to work, everyone is very kind  &  loving. The environment will always make you feel like if your not family you are treated like family.   
I came in right before the holiday time in November, and both Janet & Bob opened up their home & hearts to me,  treated me like family.  For that I am eternity grateful!  I will always cherish those memories.  
God up in heaven, knows what a beautiful angel they are receiving.  He will truly be missed and never be forgotten!  I will never see Hot Chocolate the same way again, lol  The photos and memories were amazing!  Thank you for everything Bob!  You will be missed!

Janet, RJ, and family.  I write this with cases heart as I have many memories of Bob. We shared an exercise class; we discussed plants/yards; dealing w fleas on our animals, and more.
Bob was generous. He smoked many pieces of meat for me when my family was visiting. He included Terry and me in his parties, always the best food.
RJ do you remember your dad and Terry moving the basketball hoop and pole to your driveway?  I do not remember how they got it out of the cement!
Bob's generosity and caring was felt most by me one Christmas.  Bob organized our neighbors to decorate  the lighted angel we had in our front yard in memory of Jennifer.  I still put those decorations on her special tree.
Rest in Peace Bob, this world was a better place with you in it.  ♥️

I am Bob Sister Laura. When I was growing up, I always looked up to my brother. I would tag along with Bob wherever I could. He had a great sense of humor, and would tease me at times. I want to believe everything he said. That has not changed. Our Father mowed lawns for a living and and our mother was a waitress. As we grew up, Bob was determined to make a great life for himself  which he did. Young Bob work as a dishwasher a car washer and as a garbage man for the city of Saint Pete for an entire year. Who would believe this! Bob graduated from Florida state with a four-year degree in accounting. He became a licensed broker and property manager as did Janet, and they built their business Vanguard management together. Uncle Bob and Aunt Janet had a full life raising their children and running their business, but they always made time for my son's Jay and James. The boys would spend some of their weekends with Bob and Janet. He was a fabulous cook. Bob and Janet would have our family over for all of the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner throughout the years. As Jay and James became adults they would regularly Mather Uncle Bob for visits and dinner is. There were so many good time with my spouse Herman and I had with Bob and Janet - to mention a few -  spending the weekend with them on a houseboat they rented; camping overnight at Myakka State Park; a spontaneous cookout at my Citrus County property - originally owned by our Father which is where we spent many weekends growing up; and visits cookout at boating with Janet and Bob at their Hernando Lake property, also. When Herman and I visited with Bob and went fishing with him in May, we never dreamed it this would be our last time of seeing him. We had the best time together, and I am so thankful for this day. Life will never be the same for our family without my brother Bob. I cannot express myself how much I totally love Bob and miss him already. May God be with my wonderful brother Bob.

Bob was such a wonderful man and father figure. He was always so easy to talk to about anything.. I will always cherish our talks and the advice  you always gave.  I will miss the "Bob's special dishes" at all our family dinners. This all still seems like a bad dream we all want to wake up from. I love that you found joy in all the little things. I will miss you everyday! I love you.... until we meet again.

Bob I will  always cherish our Halloween memories of a scaring children together. Thank you for always putting a smile on my face. I will miss you.

Me and my family are at a loss for words. We are so sad to hear that Bob is no longer with us on this Earth. He's in a far better place now with no more sickness or pain. Everyone has said the same thing about Bob. And it's completely true. You're such a kind loving caring person with such a jolly personality. You'll be greatly missed. It's already been said, but we all have such fond memories of Bob. He was such a charismatic person. He was always quick to comment and compliment people. He was definitely one of a kind. A very special person that had such a positive impact on people. We pray for your family and want you to know how much we will miss Bob.


I knew Bob through the amazing Janet Moyer and there is a lot to be said about someone you didn't know well but you feel like you did! Bob had the most gentle and generous spirit any time I was around him. I heard all the Halloween stories, the awesome trips and saw how adored he was by his children and grandchildren. It was quite obvious he adored them all back. It is clear Bob wanted everyone to be happy and made sure it was so. I admired his spirit of adventure and loved the fact he had his travel partner to enjoy beauty and relax with. His was a life well lived and he leaves a legacy of beautiful memories and an amazing family who will carry on with strength, kindness and love. 
I am deeply saddened by the loss of this all encompassing presence for the family.

I knew Bob not only as his daughter-in-law but also as an executive at the Vanguard family. I saw many sides of Bob & learned so much from him.  Bob had a relationship with food. Especially sweets. In my opinion he took risks & combined ingredients that I wouldn't think could be possible to taste good. He loved to cook & try new things. When Bob would cook it would be enough to feed a family of 20.  The family would be sitting down with their plates eating & someone would ask “Where's Bob?” He was always the last person to sit down to eat.  He would bring extra condiments to spice up his dinner.  It was so funny & a sight to see. When Bert & I would have Janet & Bob over for dinner we would always think about what Bob would want to eat. Not Janet, the kids or us but Bob.  Last Christmas I was exhausted from getting things ready & Bert said go relax & I said No, I have to finish these cookies for Bob & Janet.  Janet would eat them with her tea and Bob would probably sneak a few in the middle of the night.  Bob was always appreciative & surprised every year when I brought over cookies.  That was Bob.  He appreciated the big and small gestures you did for him.  His reaction was always priceless.  He had a way of making you feel very special.  

Bob’s presence was felt in the office even when he wasn’t in the building.  Delivery of amazon boxes or trying to read his chicken scratch handwriting.   Over time you learned how to read it & helped others to do the same.  Bob would say the most off the wall things just to get us to giggle & smile. I also think he loved to toy with us at meetings. Just so we would loosen up. Bob, do you need a pen? Bob, do you need a piece of paper?   He would say no but then we would mother him and he cave.  Everytime my thought was 'That's Bob'.   I will cherish all his teachings and our conversations about life and business.  My heart goes out to everyone he touched and to the Family.   I love you Bob.







Among our memories of Bob, one of our favorites is the time we attended a baseball game at Tropicana Field. Bob didn’t feel the need to feign interest in the sport and brought a book to read during the game. We loved that he was so comfortable in who he was and what his interests were  - and were not!

I am still in shock and deeply saddened. We can all agree that we will miss Bob so much.  I will always remember him for his sense of humor and the amazing Entrepreneur that he was. He always treated me with respect and never made anyone feel inferior. He was always ready to help. I still remember the first time I went with him to go visit some properties and he had a dead frog in the back seat and I was like Bob you have a dead frog back here and he said leave him alone he is sleeping until we get to his stop 😂. The whole ride to Paddock trail he had me laughing and he said I see you have the same stupid sense of humor that I do lol. Heaven has truly gained an angel. Now is your turn to make my son in heaven laugh.

Janet and Family my thoughts and prayers are with you🙏🏼. 

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing.  His quirky and fun since of humor would always amuse me and could lighten a rough day.  The world has lost a colorful man.  May God's  peace and love comfort his family and friends through this difficult time.

I am at a loss for words during this sorrowful time. Bob, you would be surprised at my loss of words. During difficult or trying situations Bob would tell me not to "Beckatize" a particular situation.  Bob would give me his advise on the situation and then tell me "there's no charge for this advice. I have had the honor and privilege of receiving many years of wisdom and expertise from Bob both from a professional and personal perspective.  Thank you for always the n/c service. but, today it is worth is immeasurable. The last piece of advice you gave me was on your expertise with Airbnb and how I should move forward. 

Janet, please know that Ted and I are thinking of you, we sure wish we could have gotten together for our date night.  

Praying for your peace  beyond all understanding comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to hold in your heart forever.  I certainly have wonderful memories of Bob that I will cherish forever. I was looking through photos and found a picture of Bob and I dancing at my wedding reception.  So good. 

Hold tight to those cherised memories for comfort, lean on family and friends for strength, and always remember how much you are loved.

We may not understand why Bob left this earth so soon, or why he left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that he died, but how he lived and how much he loved you and his family and a lifetime filled with memories too beautiful to forget. 

Bob, I can only imagine what your eyes have and will see in heaven but I look forward to meeting you one day on the otherside for all of eternity where there is no pain, suffering.

We miss you Bob. I’ve been Lindsay’s friend for 22 years. From the day Bob met me, he treated me like family. That’s just how Bob and Janet are.  Bob told me on multiple occasions that he considered me a son and that he had very high hopes and dreams for me, just like he did for RJ, BJ, Lindsay, Jennifer and any of his other children. I have spent most of my adult life with the thought of, “Will this disappoint Bob and Janet?” in most of my decisions, personal and professional. With Bob, you were always welcomed, always fed, and always family. He would be there for anyone with anything they needed that he could provide. He is the kind of man I strive to be everyday. This is such a huge loss for all of us, but I know that Bob would want us all to smile more with our memories of him and to remind ourselves of his boisterous laugh, his tender heart, and his unyielding resolve to love everyone in our lives. To remind us that we need each other more than we know, and to remind your loved ones that you love them as often as you possibly can. We love you Bob and will always remember you.


For 32 years I have memories of Bob to cherish.  Growing up Bob made an impact where I learned so many valuable lessons, and characteristics of what it meant to be likable.  The most unique I noticed was his methodical and charming sense of humor.  He had the ability to say something, and once you had a moment to think about his words, extreme laughter would follow.   Bob was the father to my best friend, and many of those characteristics were passed on, but more than his humor, the depth of his caring for others.  Bob always had an open door policy for me, this was the guarantee of support,  always a hug,  and every time him saying how proud he was of me.   Bob made me feel accepted, loved, and a sense of belonging.   Bob was the cornerstone for his family, and showed his love for each and everyone of them.   I pray his memory and love will paid forward to generations to come.  Heaven got a good one.  

Bob and Janet,  created a very warming and family environment here at  Vanguard. They always treat you like family and are always there for you.  They are very kind and wonderful people.  

Bob had this amazing car that would tell him when he would get to close to other cars.  This was sometimes was a little scary especially when you are on the interstate.  Bob was an amazing person with his sense of humor and jokes that you either make you laugh or wonder for a while.  He believe in treating his family, employees and clients with great consideration and the upmost respect and integrity.  He will be missed.  

Praying for you Janet and the family that during this time, that you will be comforted knowing he is in a better place.

There are no words for how devasted I am. So I will not even try.

But Bob loved many things in life but two of his favorite things were traveling and he was amzed at the vastness of the universe and the stars.  As my final farewell and gift to him I am sending some of his ashes into space to orbit the earth.  It is the ultimate adventure into one of his favorite places.

I will know on any given night I will be able to look up at the stars and know that he is looking down on all of us.

Inasmuch as I didn't get to spend much time with Bob, I will always remember his glowing smile and warm personality.  Whenever he walked into a room, it would light up and, vice versa.  It was my pleasure being able to have worked with him through the CEOMC organization.

What can I possibly say that hasn’t already been said...Bob was such a kind soul. He was a proud man and rightfully so. He was proud of his wife, his family, his friends, his achievements. Anyone that had the privilege of meeting him always walked away with a smile on their face and a deep respect.  I will always remember the first time I met him on a Saturday morning interview at the office. He wore sandals, shorts and his favorite tshirt.  He brought his homemade jellies, jams and bagels. He was so laid back and yet very engaging in his presentation and obvious love of Vanguard.  He texted me a day or so before he left this world and thanked me for picking up the banner!  I will miss you Bob. Heaven has gained another angel. 

Bob was one of the first CEOs that I met after becoming involved with the trade group of which he was a founding member.  His soft voice, even temperament, contagious smile, and input based on wisdom will be sorely missed.  Janet and family, you will be in our thoughts and prayers; we are so sorry for your loss.

It’s been a rough day pushing back thoughts to keep my mind focused. Now I’m in my car - in my driveway and the memories flood through. The world lost a caring, kind, brilliant, quirky, poet, writer, husband, father, grandpa, and leader. 

So many of the Bay Area know him for his entrepreneurial success and his experiences. I simply knew him as Bob, the man that gave me a chance. He interviewed me with the sticker still on his glasses and a food stain on his shirt and none of that mattered. He was genuine, goofy, brilliant and just plain an amazing human being with a huge kind heart. I didn’t always get his jokes but I always enjoyed his company. His laughter was contagious, so even though I didn’t get the Joke he still made me laugh. 

My heart and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. I pray you’re at rest and that the story never ends down that yellow brick road.

All I can say is I will dearly miss Bob.  I have so many fond memories of him over the years but perhaps what I recall most was his legendary sense of humor and kindness. I could always -- always -- count on him to make me smile, no matter how bad my day might be.  As a founding Member of the trade association I represent and work with (CEOMC),  Bob contributed to our success in ways that are difficult to quantify with words.  Most of all, Bob was my friend and that's what I will miss most of all.  

I was so saddened to hear about Bobs passing. My thoughts are with Janet and your family. May you be surrounded by His Heavenly Grace during this time. I have found memories of Bob’s humor. His email to me last week was a blast as usual as to why he was not available for lunch. He will be sadly missed by many but remembered by all. 

Bob loved his family, people, animals, and nature. A truly beautiful person, inside and out.
It is our loss, and Heaven's gain. I am picturing him with his wonderful parents. We will continue to pray for God's solace and strength be given to Janet, RJ, the children and grandchildren, Bruce, Lawrence, Laura, and all of his family and friends.
