Rita Claire Crofton

Rita Claire Crofton, 84 of Tampa passed away July 17 2014. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Paul Crofton; their daughter Rita Crofton Fernandez; her three grandchildren Christine Avila, Sean Paul Fernandez, Brittney Fernandez; her three great grandchildren Sienna Counts, Kiara Counts and Nya Blount, all of Tampa; along with countless nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Scranton Pa and a Summer resident of Lake Winola Pa. She enjoyed a wonderful childhood with her two sisters, Eileen Selemba and Mary Matlock, whom preceded her in death. It was there at Lake Winola that she met her husband Paul. They married September 22, 1951. They had one daughter Rita. The family moved to Florida in 1971, but she always kept a part of her heart at Lake Winola.

Rita was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a caring sister. Not to leave out a loving Aunt and true friend to her many. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends for her unwavering faith in Our Lord, her sense of humor and kind and generous nature.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 9:30AM at Incarnation Catholic Church, 5124 Gateway Dr, Tampa, FL 33615 (corner of Webb and Hillsborough). Arrangements entrusted to Gonzalez Funeral Home (813)931-1833.
