Richard Wayne Welch

Richard Wayne Welch passed away peacefully on October 5, 2015. He was born in Bluffton, Ohio on January 4, 1947, to Robert Roseberry Welch and Helen Wittwer Welch. Richard grew up in Monroe, Indiana and attended local schools. He graduated from Manchester College (now University) in 1969 with a degree in art and education. He taught art and photography for about 10 years in Indiana and in Broward County, Florida and then entered the insurance industry serving as a licensed insurance agent. Richard worked for the Prudential, AAA Auto Club South, and Florida Blue, and had his own agency for a short period of time. Rich was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother, Reginald (Sharon) Welch. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Livingston Welch, stepson Bill Hanaway, brothers James Welch (Mary Lynn) of Decatur, IN and Donald Welch (Brenda) of Monroe, IN and nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at 2:00 PM at the Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church with visitation one hour before the service.
