Sullivan, Richard Edward, 63, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015 in Tampa, FL. He was born on January 14, 1952 in Arlington, Virginia. Richard grew up in Warrenton, VA. He graduated Valedictorian from Fauquier High School in Warrenton, Va; then went on to earn his Master's Degree. Richard was an adjunct professor at the University of Tampa as well as a teacher for deaf and hard of hearing children for the School District of Hillsborough County. Richard was a strong supporter of equals rights. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Sullivan and Harold Sullivan; his brother-in-law, Ronald Dodson and his dogs, Sasha, Pooh, Spike and Sparky. Richard is survived by his Domestic Partner, Eddie Rivera; his dog, Beethoven; his brother, Randy (Shirley); his sister, Charlotte Sesler (Butch); his brother, Wayne (Dottie); sister, Ann Dodson; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 1pm at the Blount & Curry Carrollwood Chapel located at 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL, 33618. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Richards name, to The American Cancer Society, The Humane Society of Tampa Bay or LifePath Hospice.
