STROM, Richard “Dick”, 61, of Tampa passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. Dick has now joined his son Patrick, and together they are walking the streets of gold hand in hand. After losing Patrick in a tragic car accident in 2012, Dick wanted to keep his son’s memory alive for years to come. In May 2014, he started a nonprofit corporation Trick’s Kicks Inc. that helped buy and donate the hottest “kicks” on the market for those who could only dream of owning a new pair of those sneakers to have in their closet. Dick had a loving and giving heart and found comfort knowing that he and Patrick together were helping children who were less fortunate. His warm, ready smile and easy going demeanor made him very approachable, lending to the fact that Dick will be deeply missed. Dick was a Project Manager who worked for KFORCE and managed installation of EMC Hardware for federal customers for many years. He was an avid sports fan who loved watching the New York Yankees, Syracuse Orange basketball and enjoyed playing golf. He was a faithful and devoted member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mamie Strom and his son, Patrick Strom. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Kathy Strom; son, Michael Strom and his wife Dee; sister, Sharon Strom Saconne and many close family and friends. The family will receive friends from 4-7pm, Sunday June 5, 2016 at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home- Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W. Bearss Avenue, Tampa with a service to follow at a later date. The family is accepting flowers, as well as encouraging donations to Life Path Hospice in Dick’s memory. Words of comfort may be expressed at blountcurrycarrollwood.com.
