Ray (Reza) F. Alaee passed away on April 3, 2025, from complications after a 20-year battle with Parkinson’s disease. He is survived by his wife, Diane (Ravas), and two sons and their wives, Adam and Victoria and Spencer and Nikki. They all loved him dearly.
He was born in Mashhad, Iran on July 1,1952. His family there includes his mother, Forough, his brother, Mahmoud, and his three sisters, Farrah, Fareshdeh, and Farnaz. His father, Hossein, died from Parkinson’s disease.
Reza came to the United States in the 1970s for adventure and an education. He attained his MBA at Eastern New Mexico University and then became a CPA. He and Diane met in Denver and moved to Tampa in 1983. For decades, he had a successful and fulfilling career.
Reza enjoyed traveling with family. He and Diane had especially wonderful trips to Europe, New England, and Canada. He cherished his time on the golf course with Adam and Spencer and was fond of playing chess and backgammon. His beloved bichon Babette always met him at the door and gave him much joy and happiness. He always said she was his angel.
His proudest accomplishment was his family and being a father to Adam and Spencer. He was immensely happy they succeeded in their professional and personal lives.
Reza was a wonderful man with a lifetime of stories to tell. He will be greatly missed by his family and those who were lucky enough to know him. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation.
