Phil attended the University of Illinois and Western Illinois University, earning a degree in Business Administration. Phil worked in the Insurance Industry for 40+ years. During this time, he met his beloved wife, Nancy, and they married on March 20, 1969. Phil worked at the Department of Financial Services Bureau of Investigation for the State of Florida for 30 years, retiring in 2006. He was a Christ the King Catholic Church member in Tampa, Florida, and enjoyed volunteering as an usher for 18+ years.
Since childhood, Phil was a diehard New York Yankees baseball fan. He dedicated much of his time to health and fitness. He was often seen at the gym or spotted on Bayshore Blvd, rain or shine! Daily he enjoyed cycling, running, and walking. His athletic dedication allowed him to participate in several 15k and 5K Gasparilla Races.
In addition, he was quite a handyman. Phil enjoyed tackling large and small home improvement projects. He also enjoyed spending his weekends at the beach with the family.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Adamo; his daughter Angela Adamo; his brother Frank Adamo; his sister-in-law Connie Dullard; and many other beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will all cherish his memory.
He was proud of his Sicilian heritage and his family roots in Ybor City. He was a devoted son to Philip and Mildred and a devoted nephew to Francesca Tagliarini, Dr. Frank S. Adamo, and Angelina Adamo.
