Even though I was Peter's godfather, much of my relationship with Peter was long-distance once he left NY. But even so, I can't begin to tell you how hard it was to attend today's memorial service from 1200 miles away. I want to thank Jenn, Adam, John, Lauren, and everyone else who shared so many stories that I had never had the pleasure of hearing but somehow still know they all rang so true. 
While sitting there listening with a tear in my eye and the sadness of knowing that there was so much about Peter that I could not know, I was reminded of a quote by Nietzsche that I keep on the wall in my studio that kind of says it all…


"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music”

Peter not only heard the music, he hummed the tune constantly.

This picture was taken the night before cousin Catrina’s wedding.  I will cherish this memory forever.

One of my fondest memories with you was when cousin Catrina married Jason.  We are two peas in a pod that night! We had a Blast!!  We shared a room together and I remember everyone joking around calling us “kissing cousin”, LOL.  We partied all night long.  I remember singing at the piano bar with Grandpa Pete and somehow I ended up wearing your shirt.  Things just won’t be the same without you.  I know that you will be watching over us from up above.  I love you so much and will miss you every single day.  May you Rest In Peace.

I never met Pete, but my son John served with him in the Air Force for four years.  When John separated from the military in October of 2005, he went to Tampa and was Pete's roommate for a while.  Pete was a good friend to John, and for that I will always be grateful.  May he rest in peace.

From the moment I was able to physically walk, I can remember chasing you down every chance that I could just to be near you. You enabled me to become my loud, weird, crazy self by just being confidently and unapologetically you. We definitely knew how to get our family parties started (and were usually the last to survive the evening)! You were ALWAYS the life of any celebration, or even room that you walked into; people gravitated towards you like a magnet… a genuine, hilarious, fonzie-level-cool, biggest heart on the planet, Spider-Man loving magnet. You loved everyone around you as if they were one of your own, and any human being that had the extraordinary luck of having you in their lives was able to feel it.

You’ve always been my partner in crime, Pete, and you always will be. I’ll take you with me everywhere… but especially when I’m up to no good. I know you’ve got my back <3
