Pamela Denit Jones was born on March 15, 1947 in Washington, DC and passed on December 20, 2021 at Tampa General Hospital, Tampa. Pam was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. Pam was known for her great and generous personality, humor, grit, determination, fight, strength and loving spirit. Words cannot express the loss felt by those who loved her…she is and will forever be missed…the hole in our hearts will never be filled, especially those who received her encouragement during their time of need.
Preceded by her father Louis Marshall Chadwick Denit, Alexandria, Virginia, mother Betty Jean Grimes and step father Robert P. Grimes, Huntsville, Alabama, stepmother Page C. Denit, Alexandria, Virginia, daughter Elizabeth Jean Mobley, Tampa, Florida and brother-in-law Dennis H. Jones, Memphis, Tennessee, aunt and uncle Gloria and James Ferguson, Huntsville, Alabama.
Survived by husband Larry F. Jones, Tampa, Florida, son Michael McAllister Jr, daughter-in-law Sydney McAllister and grandson Michael McAllister, III of Brandon Florida, sister-in-law Deborah Jones, North Carolina, niece Cristin Jones, North Carolina, cousins Mary Ellen, Judy, Jimmy and countless friends in Tampa and around the country.
She attended Milligan College and George Washington University, moved to Tampa in 1973. She worked for Principal Financial Group and Hill & Knowlton. She belonged to Sword of Hope Guild and was a board member of Christian Women’s Club for many years. She was a liver transplant recipient and member of LifeLink’s liver transplant support group. She was a devout Republican and deeply loved her family, her God, and her country. She loved her friends, people in general and will be missed by all who loved her.
A celebration of life is planned for January 3rd, 2022 at Blount & Curry, MacDill Ave location, with visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and service from 4:00 to 4:30pm. Masks may be worn if needed/desired.
