Robinson, Nancy A, 90, of Tampa, went to be with the Lord on November 8,2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chicago, she grew up in the small town of Knox, Indiana and returned to Chicago after graduating from high school to attend Englewood Hospital School of Nursing. She loved being a nurse and worked as a RN at hospitals in Chicago Heights, Tampa, and Winter Park over the years. The latter part of her nursing career was spent in home health where she cared for her patients with great compassion and skill, working until the age of 71. After retiring, she returned to the hospital as a volunteer for another 7 years. Nancy was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at St. Paul Catholic Church. She was an avid reader and was very involved in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren’s lives, attending their numerous activities and celebrations over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Heilman and Amy Heilman Small, her sister Patricia “Pat” Lucas and brother William “Bill” Heilman.
She is survived by her children, Kevin Sierra, MD (Diane), Bryan Sierra, Tammy Wilson, Lisa Carter (Eddie) and Patty Zarate (John); grandchildren, Kevin (Chrisi), Kyle (Sarah), Keith (Bridget), Kurt (Mary), Nicole (Lee), Jana (Jason), Jeff (Florencia), Eddie, John David (Kim), Michael (Caitie), and Sierra; great-grandchildren, Juliana, Jason, Natalia, Ava, Zuri, Nora, Kevin Joseph (KJ), Kilian, Kyle and Austin; sisters, Melva Ramer and Amy Heilman; and her beloved cat Ella.
A funeral mass will be held at St Paul Catholic Church on Saturday, November 23rd at 1130am and the family will gather after the Mass in the Family Center to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations to one of her favorite charities (The Humane Society, SPCA, or The Smile Train) may be made in her memory. Nancy always included a quote in her cards to family so we’ll end with a quote for her: “In the hearts of those who love you, you will always be there.”
