Nancy Hughlett Lacey age 81 of Tampa, passed on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. She was born in Tampa, Florida to Vivian Jewel Mitchell and Ennis Hughlett on October 18, 1941. She attended Hillsborough High School class of 1959. In 1961 she met William E. Lacey and they had five children. Faith and family were her priorities. She cherished her grandchildren and loved to make them laugh and smile. She always saw hope and progress in any situation and was a beautiful light in the lives of her family and friends.
Nancy began her first business in 1976, Brandon Bridal Consultants. In 1978 Nancy co-owned the Brandon Tea Room. After moving to Nashville in 1981 she worked as a national recipe tester, appliance tester, demonstrator and developer. In the mid-1980s Nancy was featured bi-monthly for 5 years on CBS’ News Channel 5 “Talk of the Town” morning show creating meals in microwave convection ovens.
Relocating to Tampa in the 1990’s Nancy achieved top national sales at Circuit City and broke sales records at Optical Outlets. In her 70’s she blazed a new career path as a certified nursing assistant because she loved working and taking care of people.
She is survived by her four sons, William (Mac) Lacey, Joseph Lacey, Robert Lacey and Michael Lacey. Her only daughter and best friend, Leslee Lacey. Her daughter-in-law Carol Lacey. Her sister Judy Kreuger. Her grandchildren, LeeAnn Ryan, Dana Bennett, Savannah Coker, Julianne Lacey, Justin Lacey, and Alexlia Darby. And great-granddaughter, Vivian Ryan.
A Celebration of Life Visitation for Nancy will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 PM, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33610. A committal service will follow at 2:30 PM at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33610.
