Muniram "Jimmy" Persaud

Muniram ‘Jimmy’ Persaud passed away on June 9, 2023 in Tampa, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Indu; his children Prem (Tori), Nalinie, and Danny(Brittany); his grandchildren: Deven(Jasmine), David, Dylan, Heidi, Danika, and Dax; 5 great grandchildren; his sister Sylvie of Georgetown, Guyana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born on May 20, 1938 and raised in Georgetown, Guyana, Jimmy immigrated to Tampa, FL with his wife and three children in October, 1977 and started a new life in the USA. He never looked back and was proud to be an American. He worked multiple jobs and eventually retired as a welder from Quality Engineering Products in 2009.

Jimmy loved spending time with his Family and Friends. He was a sports enthusiast and a dedicated Buccaneers and Rays fan. His favorite pastime was attending the Bucs game with his family. He also enjoyed cricket and boxing. He was an avid reader, history buff, and storyteller. Most of all, he was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

A visitation for Jimmy will be held Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL 33614, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
