He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dora Montoya and his younger brother Gerald Montoya. He is survived by his loving wife Pam of 31 years, son, Matthew, daughters Kelly and Nina and one grandchild Anakin, brothers, Edward (Leanne) Montoya and Brian Montoya, sisters, Linda (Michael) McCarthy, Judy (Larry) Pratt and Tracy (Dirk) McConnell along with many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mike graduated from Northview High School in Covina, CA where he was the “star” of the basketball team. Mike never met a stranger and his “larger than life” personality led to successful careers in the restaurant, antique and most recently limousine business. He enjoyed all sports, but horse racing was his favorite. Mike touched many lives with his huge heart and made a lasting impression on everyone that met him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 1-2 p.m. with service to follow at 2 p.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Avenue, Tampa, FL 33609. In 2018, Mike was blessed to have received a liver transplant at Tampa General Hospital through LifeLink.
