Michael Wayne “Mickey” Jardon, 73, died peacefully at home in Tampa on November 29, 2022, following a long battle with cancer. Mickey was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 24, 1949. A graduate of the charter class of Leto High School in Tampa, Mickey was the author of the school alma mater. He went on to earn a B.A. in Physics from the University of South Florida in 1971. Mickey built a successful career in Promotional Marketing at General Foods/Maxwell House, Pepsico, and Marketing Corporation of America, but the highlight of his career was as a founding partner of Market Growth Resources. Mickey was an avid golfer and enjoyed his annual "Roundheads vs. Loyalists" tournament with his closest friends, and he was also the Commissioner of his rotisserie baseball league for 30 years. Of the many prestigious titles he held in his life, his favorite was “Dad”. He adored spending time with his family, doing everything from attending Tampa Bay Rays games or Keith Urban concerts with them, to making pancakes on Sunday mornings.
Mickey is predeceased by his parents, Lt. Col. James E. Jardon and Magdalena (née Gutierrez).
He is survived by his wife, Annemarie Jardon (née Castry) to whom he was happily married for 39 years, his siblings, Lt. Col. James E. Jardon II and Patricia Cash, his five children, Jennifer Johnson (David), Christopher Jardon, Regina Markham (David), Jessica Jardon, and Victoria Jardon, and his two grandchildren William and Veronica Johnson.
A funeral service to honor Mickey's life will take place at 5pm on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Blount and Curry Carrollwood Funeral Home located at 3207 W. Bearss Ave Tampa, FL. 33618. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
