HIGGINS, Michael Dayne, 73, passed away at home in Brandon, Florida, on February 25, 2023. He served his country and his community with the U.S. Army (1968-1974), Tampa Police Department (1973-1981), and Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (1984-2004). He enjoyed fishing, shooting, and he was a yo-yo champion. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joyce; six children, Marie Williams, Emily Higgins, Robert Higgins III, Elaine Hoke, Michael Higgins Jr., and Joseph Higgins; and 11 grandchildren. He was born on December 22, 1949, in Little Rock, Arkansas. May he rest in peace, fishing every day in the sun with his brother and buddies. The family home will be open for a tribute to his life on March 4, 2023, 2-5 p.m.
