Michael Andrew Chamoun

CHAMOUN, Michael 75, of Tampa, made his final "Curtain Call", passing away peacefully to join his wife, Sandra Chamoun, on May 30, 2023. Michael was a Tampa native and grew up on the Hillsborough River. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School and the University of Tampa. Michael spent his youth working for Tampa Parks and Recreation. He was in the professional theatrical industry for over 40 years. He worked many wonderful years with The Florida Orchestra and Convention Electric Services. Michael was a skilled craftsman and knew his way around backstage like no other. Michael retired in 2016 after working 25 years at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts as a production manager. Michael was a proud member of IATSE Local 321, a variety of theatre organizations, and conservation efforts. Michael was an avid outdoorsman from fly fishing to kayaking, biking and traveling the Carolinas. He is survived by his son, Michael Ignacio Chamoun, and wife, Daina; daughter, Jennifer Chamoun, and son-in-law, William Johnston; adoring grandchildren, Mikie and Destiny Chamoun; sister, Katherine Wright; brother, Victor Chamoun; as well as many cousins and close friends. Celebration of life will be held at the Garden of Memories, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, FL 33610 on Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 12-2 pm. It will be followed by a memorial service at 2 pm. Join us in wearing red and black to represent some of Michael's favorite Operas and events.
