Maureen Patricia Jones

86, of Tampa, died on Sunday, January 31st. Born in Heston, England, she was preceded in death by: husband CMSgt Vernon R. Jones in Tampa (2019); parents Edward P. Buckley in Liverpool, England (1947) and Dorothy A. (Prideaux) Buckley in Tampa (2002); and brother Michael K. Buckley in Nairobi, Kenya (1996). Maureen is survived by her son David A. (Karen) Jones of Alaska; daughter Kimberley A. Dailey; grandchildren Jennifer A. (Christopher) Enright, Julie (Matthew) Fleming both of New Jersey, Erin and Ian Dailey; and five great-grandchildren. She became a US citizen in 1958, raised her children, and then obtained a nursing degree at HCC in Tampa – working at Tampa General Hospital until retirement. A Tampa resident since 1962, she was an active member of the Tampa Teapot Club (TBPA). A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 4th at 10am at Christ the King Catholic Church followed by interment at Florida National Cemetery at 1pm.
