Marilyn Marveenia Stover, age 81, of Tampa, Florida passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021. Marveen was the first-born child of Dorothy Mae and Marvin LaDelle, who both proceeded her in death. She was born September 17, 1939 in Kershaw County, South Carolina. The family added Dottie, Harry (Barbara), Larry (Linda), and Malcolm (Delores) over the next 10 years.
At 13 years old she and the family moved to Pensacola, Fla. She married shortly after high school and moved to the Tampa Bay area. They adopted Deborah Girling and Dwayne Courtney and wife, Barbara Smallwood Courtney before going their separate ways.
She met Harold Colgate and married him 31 years ago, enjoying a full and happy life camping, canoeing and doting on five grandchildren, Andrew (Amanda), Anthony, Adam, Sarah, Colton; two great-grandchildren, Abigail, Annabelle.
She enjoyed reading, bird watching and crocheting. She was also an avid collector of items promoting her favorite drink, Coca-Cola. Through all this her faith in God was unwavering and an inspiration to her family and friends. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend she will be missed by all that knew her.
A graveside service for Marveen will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021 in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, 5048 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, Florida.
