102, of Tampa, passed away November 9, 2022, surrounded by loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Ballengee and daughter Martha Katherine Ballengee. She is survived by her sons, Charles Ballengee II (Karla); Howard Ballengee (Gail); Douglas Ballengee (Joanne); Lawrence Ballengee; Russell Ballengee (Lisa); grandchildren Buffy Marie (Steven), Michael (Brenda), Shelley; Jennifer (Kevin); Russell II (Kelly); Melissa (Brent); Nicholas (Stephanie); Brian; Luke (Staci); Kayleigh; Ashlea (Shane); Elizabeth; Jessica and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Martha lived a very full life. Born in Seattle in 1920 she worked her way east to Huntington, West Virginia where she met her future husband. Married in Lakeland on January 25, 1944, his military service in WWII, Korea and Viet Nam took her back across the country, to South Dakota, Texas and Hawaii before finally settling in Tampa in 1968. They had six children in fourteen years born in four different states. She retired as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief of the Tampa VA Dieticians Office in the late 1980’s. She was immensely proud of her family and shared a close bond with each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A service will be held at Blount & Curry, 605 South MacDill Ave, Tampa at 1pm with graveside services immediately following at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
