He attended Incarnation Catholic School and was a 1993 graduate of Jesuit High School in Tampa. Mark earned an undergraduate degree from Loyola University, New Orleans and an MBA from Nova Southeastern University. At the time of his death, he worked for Publix Supermarkets in Cary, North Carolina.
Mark played and enjoyed sports in his early years and loved being on the water and boating. He was the cool older brother of Chris and his friends who always looked up to him. Mark was a kind and gentle soul who had a beautiful smile that will never be forgotten. He enjoyed life, loved his family and cherished his many lifelong friends. We were all blessed to have known him and to have been a part of his life. He will forever be our bright shining light in the heavens above.
Mark is survived by his loving parents, his mother Dodie Spoto, father Dr. Gerald L. Spoto, his beloved brother, Chris, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Chris Spoto, George Ford III, Spencer Ford, David Holp, and Trey Spoto. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Deboskey, Trey Greco, Alex Hernandez, Dennis Machado, Johnny Mitchell and Sergio Mordini.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, Florida, ph. 813-931-1833. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM officiated by Father Deutsch, SJ from Jesuit High School. Burial will be at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, with the procession to the cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
