Mark David Pointer

Mark David Pointer was born on January 27, 1991, in Tampa, FL. He was the son of David and JoAnn Pointer; father to Lorenzo, with partner JoAnna German; brother to Michael (Ann), Michele, Jonathan (Beth), Joshua (Rie), Elizabeth (Hugh), Carolyn (Rob), Nicole, Katelyn, Jack, and Kent; and uncle to Benjamin, Nathaniel, Jordyn, Sarah, Zoe, Martha, Ethan, Andrew, Caleb, John, Ian, Jonah, Matthew, Emma, Abby, Olivia, Abigail, Chloe, Josiah, Amelia, and Ella. Mark graduated from Lions’ Academy in 2010. His passion was rap music, and he was a talented lyricist and performer. He performed at venues throughout Florida and produced instrumental mixes for other musicians. He was also a gifted photographer, producing album covers and promotional portraits for a variety of artists. Mark had a heart for children and invested much of his time building relationships with his nieces and nephews and foster children cared for by his family. He loved classic cartoons, video games, smoothies, martial arts, cooking, jewelry, and tattoos. Above all, his greatest love and accomplishment was his son Lorenzo, whom he adored. Mark died on August 17, 2016. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016, 1:00 pm. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 6802 Silvermill Dr., Tampa, FL 33635.
