Mark was born on January 19, 1961 to Gail and Violet Morter in Tampa, Florida. He graduated from Jefferson High School and Hillsborough Community College. He then worked in the computer technology space. He later ran a family restaurant, Posse’s, for 10 years, and was an investor in technology and real estate.
Mark loved to travel, visiting 46 states and many national parks from Maine to California. He also toured various locations in Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas.
Mark was the caretaker for his mother and father for many years. He leaves behind his father Gail (“GJ”), many cousins, and his beloved dog Marcum.
A visitation for Mark will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Blount & Curry Life Event Center, 605 S MACDILL AVE, TAMPA, FL 33609. A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 605 S MACDILL AVE, TAMPA, FL 33609. A reception will occur Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 605 S MACDILL AVE, TAMPA, FL 33609. A committal service will occur Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Garden Of Memories, 4207 E LAKE AVE, TAMPA, FL 33610.
