Marjorie Ellen Woltmann age 86, peacefully took her last breath early in the morning and woke up to see Jesus on April 8, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Harry for 58 years and loving mother of Timothy, Daniel (Melissa), and Deborah (Darrell). She was a cherished grandmother of Nathan, Zoe, Ryan, Benjamin, Jonathan, and Charis. She was a dear sister to 5 brothers and 6 sisters and countless nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Oden and Thelma Haynes on October 14, 1937. After high school, she attended Clarks Summit University (formerly known as Baptist Bible College in Johnson City, NY) and graduated with a Bachelor of Religious Education. After being a religious education director for a year, she attended Tennessee Temple Seminary and met her beloved husband, “Bud.” They were married on June 28, 1964. After getting married, they moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, so Harry could go to seminary. For the next six years she was a devoted wife and became a mom to her three children. In the early 1970’s, she started her career as a teacher. Marjorie was a beloved elementary teacher for almost 30 years. She taught countless students at Aucilla Christian School in Monticello, Florida, Bible Baptist School in Savannah, Georgia, and Temple Heights Christian School in Tampa, Florida. Mrs. Woltmann had a knack for seeing the best in all her students. She especially loved working with the most challenging students and proving to them that they could succeed in school. One of the most heartbreaking times of her life was when she couldn’t finish her last year of teaching due to early retirement in 1999 because of health concerns.
The last twenty plus years of Marjorie’s life were especially devoted to all her grandchildren. She was very pleased when she finally had grandchildren that were local. She helped raise them. She became her youngest granddaughter’s best friend. During this time, she continued to encourage everyone she met and became known as the lady who had a contagious smile and a positive attitude no matter what was going on personally.
During the past four years Marjorie’s health continued to decline. Despite being on her death bed more times than anyone could count, she continued to fight for life especially to be there for her grandchildren. Sunday before she went to Jesus she realized that she had blessed all that she needed to. It was time for her physical pain to end and see to Jesus, her beloved husband Bud, and all that went before her.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents Oden and Thelma, her husband Harry, one sister Judy, and two brothers, Oden and Dale.
Marjorie is survived by Tim, Dan (Melissa), Debbie (Darrell), 6 grandchildren, 5 sisters, and 3 brothers.
