Marilyn Francis Reynolds, 93, of Monroe passed away on February 21, 2017 in Tampa, FL. Visitation will be February 24, 2017 at 9:00 am at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 West Bearss Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33618. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 24, 2017at St. Paul’s Catholic Church 12708 N. Dale Mabry Hwy. Burial will follow at Sylvan Abby Memorial Park Cemetery, 2860 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL. Arrangements are by Blount and Curry Funeral Home. Marilyn was born in Monroe, MI to Henry and Florence Helser on 04/05/1923. She married Robert Emery Reynolds on 11/3/1943 in Ocracoke Island, NC. Marilyn was a devoted catholic. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Marilyn worked for the city of Trenton, MI for 27 years. She was proud to run for office and was elected City Clerk of Trenton, MI and she remained at her post until her retirement in 1985. She strove for excellence in everything she did from her job as city clerk to cooking for her family, to her sewing and needle work. She had a genuine concern for others. She was social, energetic, and fun. She had an incredible musical talent. She started performing at 3 years old and continued entertaining throughout her life, always providing songs for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was the church organist for 30 years. You could often find her sitting at a piano playing songs and singing along. She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She meant the world to her to family and will truly be missed. Marilyn is preceded in death by her loving husband Robert E. Reynolds, her parents Henry and Florence Helser, her sister Charolette Dahlka, and her son-in-law Jack McElroy. Marilyn is survived by her three children, Robert Reynolds, Jan Reynolds McElroy, and William Reynolds, her three grandchildren, Matthew McElroy, his spouse Stephanie, Mara McElroy Spencer, her spouse Justin, and Kalei McElroy Blair, her spouse Michael, and her 6 great grandchildren Marilyn (Mallie) Spencer, John (Jack) Spencer, Luke Spencer, Emery Blair, Elizabeth Spencer, and Jace Blair.
