Marie Pittman was born June 15, 1960 in Port Jefferson, New York at Mather Memorial Hospital to the late Royal Scott, Sr. and Christine Scott. She was the eldest of her 4 brothers Royal, Rory, George and Jonathan.
Marie learned about Jehovah at the age of 16, made the truth her own, and was baptized on June 8, 1977 in Central Islip, New York.
One year later at the Victorious Faith Convention in 1978 at Shea Stadium, she met and fell in love with her best friend Timothy Pittman and they were later married on November 10, 1979.
The happy couple remained in the Central Florida area until 1992 when they moved to Temple Terrace and served in the Temple Terrace Congregation ever since.
Marie was an excellent hard worker as an IT Specialist for WALBRIDGE ALDINGER, however, she also was a very spiritual person enjoying the ministry and had the opportunity to regular pioneer for a total of 6 years as well as auxiliary pioneer as often as she could.
She enjoyed organizing hospitality for various events such as Regional Convention speakers and traveling brothers and her home was always open to welcome guests. She loved dancing, baking and family.
In recent years although she battled illness she maintained a positive attitude and firm resolve to live. She drew that courage from her heavenly father Jehovah and constantly prayed that He "help her be confident and face the future firm and unafraid." Hence her favorite song was #41 please hear my prayer (children's rendition) and in recent months, give me courage!
Marie held dear to her heart as both her favorite scripture as well as Tim's, the words at PHILIPPIANS 4:6,7 "do not be anxious over anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus." She endured faithful to the end.
Marie is survived by her loving husband Timothy Pittman, wonderful mother, Christine Scott, brothers, Royal (Tammy), Rory, George and Jonathan (Jennifer) Scott, step mom Jesse Scott, step brother Frank Scott and a host of brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
