PEREIRA, Maria A, 83, of Tampa, passed away November 17, 2018. In 1968 Maria and husband Mariano, with their young son and daughter, moved from Cuba to the United States. They lived in Newton, NJ where they worked at Don Bosco College. In 1974 they relocated to Tampa. She was an active and faithful parishioner at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Maria had a deep love for her family and the Salesians of Don Bosco. She enjoyed gardening, New York Yankee baseball, and her dog Chulo. Maria is preceded in death by Mariano, her devoted husband of 50 years. She is survived by her son Jesus Pereira (Milagros), her daughter Maria Diaz (Reinaldo), grandchildren; Roberto Pereira, Daniel Pereira (Jessica), Emmanuel Diaz, and Adriana Diaz, extended family and friends. A visitation will be held 10 AM with a mass celebrated at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Mary Help of Christians Church, 6400 E Chelsea Ave, Tampa, FL 33610. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, Tampa. In lieu of flowers please donate in her memory to Mary Help of Christian Center or Cristo Rey Tampa HighSchool.
