It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Maria Faure, who left us peacefully at the age of 77. Maria was born on August 24, 1947, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and passed away surrounded by her family.
Maria dedicated over 20 years of her life to the Hillsborough County Health Department, where she earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues. However, above all, Maria was a woman of faith. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of living a life with Jesus by their side, teaching us all to prioritize love, kindness, and devotion to God.
Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Maria loved having loved ones gather at her home, whether for a simple meal or a celebration. She could often be found with a vinyl record playing, sharing her love of music, which spanned generations, from the 1950s and beyond.
Maria was also an avid cook, known for preparing delicious meals that brought the family together, and she cherished the simple pleasure of “window shopping,” as she called it. One of Maria’s most treasured traditions was Black Friday. Every year, she would gather her grandchildren the night before, wake them up at 4 a.m., and take them on a special journey to pick up the morning paper and check the sales. She made holiday shopping an adventure, creating lasting memories with each trip.
Maria leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and many other cherished family members. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on through the values she imparted and the many wonderful memories she created.
“We will be celebrating Mom’s life on Friday, November 22nd, at 1:00 PM. You are warmly invited to join us as we honor her memory." Location: Blount & Curry Funeral Home 3207 W Bearss Ave Tampa FL 33618 United States
