Margaret "Marge" Mary Brophy

She made her mark on this world for 97 wonderful years. Margaret (Marge) was born in New York City in 1926, by her parents Josephy Braine and Margarit Sullivan Braine. Marge had a good life growing up in the Village of NYC with her 3 brothers Joseph, James and Harry Braine. Marge and all her brothers were Baptized in the local church of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. Marge had a modest childhood with her brothers, they were a strict Catholic family that stuck together in the good and tough times. Marge was Married in December 15 of 1945 to a WWII Navy sailor Thomas J Brophy. Marge and (Big) Tom had 2 children Thomas J Brophy and Dennis J Brophy. They had a wonderful life with their 2 sons living and moving around the Northeast of the United States. Marge and Tom moved south to Tampa, Florida in 1980 where Big Tom Retired. Unfortunately, Marge’s husband of 40 years passed too short in 1986. Marge had been blessed with a beautiful grandchild and the daughter of Thomas J Brophy and Kathleen Brophy, Kelli Denise Brophy. Marge led a tight ship with both her son’s and granddaughter making sure that the catholic values and doctrine were followed. Marge was happy to see her granddaughter Kelli D Brophy marry Thomas M Ridley. During these years Marge was struck again with the Death of her first-born Thomas J Brophy then years to follow the death of her second child Dennis J Brophy and his wife Linda Brophy.

Marge was not alone as she was taken into the home of her granddaughter’s family. Marge again was back as a loving caretaker in the schooling and religious upbringing of her Great Grandchildren, Breanna E Ridley and Zachery T Ridley, she helped raise another beautiful family just as she had done for multi-generations.

She was graced with her lifelong family friend Carol Maas and her children Jack and Janet.

Marge has faced many challenges in her life, but she did it with grace, love and the love of God. Margaret M Brophy was a tribute to this earth, and she will be a tribute to her place in the hands of heaven.
