Marco Antonio Ramirez, age 41, of Tampa, Florida passed on August 9, 2016 while diving the Tennessee Reef in the Florida Keys. Marco was born on January 1, 1975 to Julio Cesar Ramirez and Luz Maria Ramirez. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Andrea Ramirez; his loving children, Rory and Siena Ramirez and their mother Maylen Ramirez; his older brother Julio C. Ramirez, Jr., his wife Marcela Ramirez and their children Sebastian and Juliana; his younger brother Robert Ramirez, his wife Shilo and their children Cannon and Taylor.
Marco attended Leto High School and graduated from Jesuit High School in 1993. He attended the University of Tampa from 1993 – 1995 and the University of Central Florida from 1995-1996. Marco played baseball for the Aberdeen Pheasants, and the St. Paul Saints (Prairie and Northern Independent Baseball Leagues). He also worked as a sports agent and turned his love for baseball into a passion for coaching. His youth baseball team Strike Force including son Rory, is the first Tampa team to win Cooperstown and break the record for fastest around the horn skills competition in 2015. Strike Force also won the USSSA 11U national championship in Memphis televised on CBS Sports. Marco had big plans for his current youth baseball team with the West Coast Scorpions.
Marco was devoted to his children Rory and Siena and wanted them to have the best education and sports training he could give them. An education fund has been established for his children in lieu of flowers at https://www.youcaring.com/MarcoRamirezMemorialFund and donations will be accepted at the service.
Services in his honor will be held Saturday, August 27th at City Life Church on 8411 N Dale Mabry Hwy. Tampa, FL 33614 from 12:30pm until 3:00pm with a ceremony in his memory starting at 1:00pm.
