Marcia Jane Prather

Marcia was born in Miami to Marshall and Agnes Byrd on July 11, 1935. She was a graduate of Miami Senior High School in 1955. She married Charles D. Prather on July 21, 1956 at Shenandoah Presbyterian Church in Miami. She was involved in The Timuquanian Society, and was an avid bridge and tennis player. She was passionate in her love of animals. She was a member, and past president of the Carrollwood Coterie Club.

Marcia is preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Agnes Byrd and husband Charles.

Marcia is survived by her companion Dave Wheat, her sister Peggy Pixley, (Gary), her daughter Laura Prather (Frank Vari) and grandchildren Charlie and Angela Vari, and son Chuck Prather (Kathy) and grandchildren Rachel Lowe (Jeremy), Timothy Prather, Elizabeth Bell (Brian), Mary, Clare and Sean Prather and great-grandchildren Adam Lowe and Natalie Bell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday October 8th at Blount Curry Funeral Home in Carrollwood, 3207 W. Bearss Avenue, Tampa. A visitation and service officiated by Deacon Jerry Crall from St. Timothy Catholic Church. A reception will follow the service.

Memorials may be given to The Humane Society Tampa Bay.
