Manuel Castro

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Pauline Longo Castro. Manuel’s parents were Luis B. Castro of Galicia, Spain and Vicenta Castro of Tampa. Manuel is survived by his sister, Alicia Castro Rivero; two children, Rosie Castro Rood and Manny Castro Jr.; five grandchildren, T.J. Rood (wife Tara), Julia Rood, Elon Rood, Meggie Ann Castro and Matthew Castro; four great-grandchildren, Tommy Rood, Taylor Rood, Tori Rood and Blake Rood; as well as many nephews.

Manuel was a well-respected painting and building contractor. Those who knew him held him in high regard with trust and admiration.

Manuel and Pauline were inseparable, working together, traveling together to distant places and spending relaxing summers at the beach. They are now lovingly together again in a higher and better place.

Visitation is scheduled for 5pm-7pm, Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33614. A graveside service will be held at 11am, Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Italian Club Cemetery at the intersection of 24th Ave. and 26th St., Tampa, FL 33605.
