Manuel was like a surrogate father to me in youth.  Once I was living with him and my sister Donna.  He was very strict with me.  I once got suspended from school for leaving school property and was told to stay home and watch no TV and have no company.
He came home early to check on me.  I quickly turned off the TV and sent the boy that was over out the bedroom window.  
First he added time to my punishment for watching TV.  How did he know I wondered. I later learned he felt the old TV screen for static electricity. Then he added even more time for having company over.  I didn't even have time to wonder how he knew, he told me that next time put the screen back in the window.
I never could get anything over on this man who loved me and made me feel safe.

Manuel was such a sweetheart. The love I felt when we were together with Julia & Mindy’s family is priceless to me. 
Steve & I are so sorry for such a great loss. Sending our love, hugs & prayers . 🙏
