Makenli Christine Martin was born February 11, 2012 to Hunter and Vanessa Martin. She was taken home to be with God on February 4, 2017, one week before her fifth birthday. Makenli loved life! She came into this world under strained conditions, involving a very high-risk pregnancy. But, she did not let that slow her down at all. Makenli walked early, talked early, and began singing at the same time. She had perfect pitch and an incredible memory. Makenli could quote nearly the entire Disney movie Frozen at two years of age, songs and script. Her favorite colors were pink and purple, which was the way she liked to dress; bright, happy, fun colors. Makenli loved to show-off her ballet skills. She would teach you her latest steps and then expect you to dance with her. She was beautiful and her inner beauty was even brighter. For the short time God gave her to us, Makenli lit up every corner she could find. Bible Class was one of her favorite times of the week. She loved talking about God and had lots of questions about Him. Now, she has all the answers. She contracted a rare strain of E. coli and fought valiantly against it until God rescued her and took her to be with him, surrounded by her loving family. Blessed by her short life were her parents, Hunter and Vanessa Martin, her brother Malakai, her grandparents Carl Martin (Popsi), Patti Martin (Mimi), Christine and Rusty Meeks (MawMaw and PawPaw), great grandparents Mabel and Dewey Martin (Nana and Papa), her Popi Ed, her Uncle and Aunt Rene and Marcia Martin, her Uncle and Aunt Jason and Ginger Martin, her Aunt and Uncle Sarah and Chris Parrish, her Uncle Luke Martin, her Aunt Alexis Martin, her Aunt Bridgette Meeks, her Aunt Mindy Cummings, several Great Aunts and Uncles and many cousins. Her Celebration of Life will be on her birthday, February 11, 2017 at Valrico church of Christ, 1520 S. Miller Rd., Valrico, FL 33594. Visitation will be at 10AM, followed by a service at 11AM. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa. In honor of her love of bright, happy colors, (especially pink and purple), the family is requesting those attending her celebration dress accordingly.
