Lydia Florence Terrana, 98, of Tampa died on May 4, 2015. She was born February 23rd, 1917. Lydia was the fourth and last child born to Arturo Morales and Cornelia O’Halloran. She was a life-long resident of West Tampa, and in 1939 was voted Latin Fiesta Queen where she rode on the Gasparilla float. Her uncle, Blas O’Hallorann was mayor of West Tampa from 1917-1921.
Lydia worked in the wholesale beverage business for over 30 years and retired from Carbo Liquors in 1983.
Lydia was an excellent cook and avid reader. She and her longtime husband, Sam, traveled throughout their lives in the U.S. and in Europe. Lydia looked at the bright side of life; her glass was always half full. She will forever be remembered for her great sense of humor and kind heart. She will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years, Sam Terrana, her two sisters, Clementine and Sylvia Morales, brother Arturo and uncle, Blas O’Hallorann, as well as her lifetime friends Eva Antinori and Angie Antinori. She is survived by her nieces Gloria Barcelo (George) and Diana Maurici (Chris), nephews Michael Terrrana (Patricia), Rick Terrana (Talpha) and Frank Greco (Eileen), her goddaughter Nancy Ficarrotta and many great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Myrtle Hill Cemetery, 4202 E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610 at 11:00 AM on Wednesday May 13.
