Moore, Louise Myrtle, age 96, of Tampa, passed peacefully from this life to be with the Lord at 10:30am on July 2, 2019. Louise was born in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1922 to Harold and Margaret Strout. She was the oldest of four children. She was predeceased by her parents, two siblings, Harold (Micky) Strout and Margarite Brown and two daughters, Katherine Samson and her stillborn infant, as well as two grandsons, Joe and John Pirez. She was also predeceased by her first husband, James McKay, the father of her four children, and James M. Moore, her husband from 1967 until his death in 2003.
Louise was a member of Idlewild Baptist Church since 1994. She sang in the Choir for many years and loved sewing costumes for their programs. She enjoyed many church trips overseas and outings with her groups. Louise loved the Lord and reading her bible.
Louise is survived by her son, James McKay, Jr. (Florence), two daughters, Nancy Pirez (carl- deceased) and Joan Langford (Cooper). She is survived by a sister, Happy LeCornu (Jerry), and six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren.
Louise was a resident of The Legacy at Highwoods Preserve in New Tampa since 2016. Her final resting place will be Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, beside her husband, James Moore, a WWII vet.
The family will receive friends at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Blount and Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel. The funeral service will take place at 11:30 am on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Blount and Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel. Internment will take place at 2 pm following the funeral service at Florida National Cemetery.
