Kristy Eames, a native of Tampa, Florida, passed away on July 22, 2023 after battling many illnesses including beating cancer twice. She was 66 years old. The life of every room she walked into, Kristy lived a fulfilling life as a beloved daughter, sister, mom, “mimi” to her grandchildren, and friend.
Born to Nancy and Dwayne Keiser on June 28, 1957 in Minden, Nebraska, Kristy lived her first few years in Tampa before her family moved to Land O’ Lakes where she would meet a group of lifetime friends who would eventually dub themselves the “Lakers.” After graduating from Pasco High School in 1975, Kristy moved back to Tampa where she would meet her husband Jon. They married in 1980 and had many adventures including raising two kids.
Kristy worked for the Tampa Electric Company for over 30 years before taking an early retirement due to health reasons. In her short retirement, she was dedicated to her family and took every opportunity to visit her children and beloved grandchildren. She loved spending time near the water, gardening, exploring local spots, cheering on the Rays and Bucs, and hosting friends and family. Her and Jon’s annual “The Night Before the Night Before Christmas” party was always an epic celebration filled with friends, family, and lots of laughter.
Kristy leaves behind many who will miss her greatly; her husband of 42 years, Jon; her mother, Nancy Keiser; her son, Jonathan Eames (Ashleigh); her daughter, Amanda Ladd (Evan); her sisters, Mary Beth Keiser and Melissa Griffin (Dale); three grandchildren, Jacob and Eli Ladd and Charles Eames; and countless friends.
Her funeral service will be held this Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (20735 Leonard Rd, Lutz, Florida.) The viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
Kristy joins many loved ones including her father, Dwayne Keiser, and grandson, Henry Ladd, in Heaven.
