Kevin's voice was the one that could calm a stressful day. His demeanor at work was one that drew you in.  His smile was always in view.  So many people were blessed to have known him.  God Bless his entire family.  And God Bless you Kevin. 

As a young volunteer for NAFR in 1977, Kevin encouraged me to apply for a paid firefighter position with NAFR. I was fortunate enough to get hired, which would start my 37 year career in the Fire Service. I have always credited Kevin for my career. We enjoyed hanging out and going scuba diving. A great man, taken way too early, but he will be remembered by all who knew him.

One of my fondest memories of Kevin was with my granddaughter, Brittany.  Before her teen years she would never spend the night out but each summer, she asked her Mom to sign her up for the week long summer camp program at our church held at the Stetson College.   For two years as we waited for the chartered bus to arrive, she would have a melt down and cry she just could not bring herself to leave home for a week.  The third time, they say is the charm so we all thought surely she would get on the bus.  Nope, she cried and begged us to take her home.  No amount of pleading by Pastor JJ, her Mom, or I would convince her to go.  The then chartered bus pulled up and Kevin was the driver!  He spotted Brittany, got off the bus, took Brittany aside and spoke with her for about ten minutes. Whatever he said to her worked.  She got on the bus waved goodbye and off she went.  Kevin was indeed a child whisperer!

I first met Kevin while working for National Ambulance back in 1976 he was  one of my first Chief Officers when I joined North Andrews Fire Rescue.  He was a Great Fire officer and a good friend we had a blast back then.   He taught me a lot about the Fire Service and got me started on a  fantastic career  path that would last for the next 30 years.  Thank you Kevin for your guidance and friendship  may you rest in peace my brother.

Kevin and I go back to the 1970’s. We were room mates in Ft.Lauderdale. We also worked together at North Andrews Fire/Rescue. We learned so much about the fire service there. It is crazy that I was just thinking about us working together last week. We had so much fun.  Love and condolences to Margaret and family. Richard Banyas

When I first moved to Fort Lauderdale in the late 1970s Kevin was one of the first people that I met. I worked with Kevin at NAFR and later we work together at National Ambulance  and Medics Ambulance. We worked part time together at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Margaret and I were partners towards the end of my career at Medics. I think that’s the sign of a truly good person when you can reflect back on so many interesting stories. It’s very odd that just last week I was talking about him and telling stories to our children. Kevin was one of those people that you can look back at and think there was a truly genuine person. Love and prayers to the family. 

I worked with Kevin at the old North Andrews FD in Broward County, and man did we have fun! While he was always a serious and very competent Fire Insteuctor, Fire Officer & Chief-he was equally a brother and friend. And like so many others...wow the stories we could tell!! I am so sorry to hear of Kevin’s passing-but we are left with wonderful memories of a very good man who made a difference to thousands. Kevin was my first boss at North Andrews FD and a great fire officer. I keep remembering fires we fought together, he taught me tons about the fire service and how to be a leader.
I could write stories for hours of our time together, both on and off the job. All of them great memories. Lately we've had a couple of "words with friends" games going, always busting my chops for crazy words.
Will miss you my dear friend.

I was the head volleyball coach at Eckerd College for 8 seasons and we would always request to have Kevin as our driver because he was our team’s favorite! Each time I would climb up on the bus - I was immediately greeted by Kevin’s smile. There were lots of late night drives after exciting wins & heatbreaking losses, but we talked about everything in life - with family (mine & his) as the primary focus! He will be terribly missed by anyone who knew him! Thoughts & prayers to his wonderful family. 

If there’s one thing I knew for sure, it was that Uncle Kevin was going to take a nap during the annual Moran Christmas party. Somehow he could sleep during the chaos of loud kids, food prep and lots of cocktail making. Rest easy, Uncle Kevin. Love you 💕

My earliest memories of my uncle Kevin was Kevin always addressing me purposefully by the wrong name. “How are you Harry?” He would say.  I was old enough to attempt to correct him with some degree of irritation. Which he would reply “I’m sorry Harry, I’ll remember next time” 
      I’ll always be able to remember hearing his unmistakable voice calling me by the wrong name.  I loved him anyways.

He was preceded in death by his son Brian and is survived by his wife of 39 years Margaret, daughters Jennifer Wright (Brandon) and Beth Slother (Cory), grandchildren Justice Wright and Mia Slother, mother Joan Moran, brothers Dennis (Angela), Jimmy (Christine), Billy (Pam Pressnall), sisters Betty and Margaret Figueroa (Willie), best friend David Jessamy, as well as 17 nieces and nephews.
