Katie Marie Desantis

Katie Marie DeSantis, age 39, a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, and friend was born September 15th, 1983, in Massillon, Ohio. She spent her early years in Canton Ohio, and then resided the rest of her life in the Tampa Bay area.

Katie passed away on the day of July 29th 2023, at home in Land O Lakes Florida after enduring 9 years of illness. She now returns to her heavenly home to be with others that have preceded her by death; grandparents Woodrow and Ola Mae (Denison) Williams, Anthony and Doris (Schrock) DeSantis; Uncles Gary Bruce Williams, Carl Williams, John Scott Williams.

Katie is survived by her parents, Anthony DeSantis and Betty (Williams) Nichols; stepfathers, Harold Edwin Nichols and Michael G. Luckett; brother, Adam DeSantis; sister in-law, Hannah (Gallaher) DeSantis; Niece, Athena Marie DeSantis; Aunts, Ann Sheridan and Christine Beruff; uncles, Larry DeSantis and Phillip DeSantis.

Prior to her illness, Katie was married to David Werp for 6 years. She never had children of her own, but dearly loved the ones around her.

Katie loved to have fun! She enjoyed traveling the world, going to theme parks, visiting the beach, and spending time with friends and family. She was very artistic, expressing herself through painting, dancing, and music. She loved the holidays, especially Halloween. She had a little wicked sense of humor.

She will always be loved and remembered. She was tough, and fought a long battle in life. Now, she has won that battle, with a victory of peace.

Funeral services will be at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, located at 4207 East Lake Ave Tampa, FL 33610 on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 2pm. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm with service at 2pm. Graveside burial at 3pm. All friends and family are welcome.
