The life of Junior E. Simpson, a man whose determination, intellect, and character left a lasting impression on those who knew him. Born on September 3, 1947, in Carty Hill, Clarendon, Jamaica, W.I., Junior was the son of Alfred Simpson and Estriana (Cross) Simpson.
Junior excelled as a student, showing remarkable intelligence and wit from a young age. He continued his education in the United States, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Lehman College in Bronx, New York. His ambition and resourcefulness led him to establish his own printing business, demonstrating his strength as an entrepreneur.
Beyond his professional achievements, Junior had a passion for capturing moments through photography, documenting significant events in his and his family’s life over the years. He also found comfort and joy in the rhythms of island music and jazz, which connected him deeply to his roots and culture.
Junior is survived by his daughter Simone Simpson; his grandchildren Malcolm G. Weaver, Jasmine C. Weaver, and Xavier K. Weaver; his nieces Claudette and Annette; nephews Melvin, Eric, and Gary Coke; cousins; and close friends.
In accordance with Junior’s wishes, his family will honor his request to rest peacefully alongside his loving wife Sonia D. (Francis) Simpson and daughter Shelleyann N. Simpson. This final act fulfills his desire to be reunited with the two people who held the deepest places in his heart.
In lieu of flowers, donations will kindly be accepted by his daughter via Zelle at mone1463@verizon.net.
Rest peacefully, Junior. You will be remembered for your dedication, principles, and contributions.
