Judith Jasco Rodriguez, (Mrs. Jack) 75 of Tampa, passed away unexpectedly with her family by her side on March 21, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank A. Jasco and Dorothy B. Jasco, and her brother Donald W. Osgood. She is survived by her husband, Jack Rodriguez; son Jack A. Rodriguez and his wife, Donna W. Rodriguez; two grandsons, Jack R. Rodriguez and Nicholas J. Rodriguez; and many extended relatives and friends.
Judy was born in Buffalo, NY but lived in Florida most of her life and was very proud of her Italian and German heritage. She attended local schools and graduated from H.B. Plant High School. Soon thereafter, she met Jack, the love of her life, and they were married. She worked with Jack on their South Tampa real estate development and building projects and produced the design and finishes for each project.
Judy was a natural volunteer. She Chaired many fundraisers such as the Red Cross Ball and the Chiseler's 40th, 50th, and 60th Anniversary Celebrations. She served on the Board of Directors at Red Cross Tampa and was a member of the Red Cross Angels, Friends of Plant Park, Italian Club, Christ the King Catholic Church and the Henry B Plant Museum Society and was a former member of Tampa Junior Womens Club. She also served on The University of Tampa Board of Trustees during her tenure as President of The Chiselers, Inc.
Her passion was the Chiselers and historic preservation. She became a member in 1990 and was chosen Provisional of the Year. She served as President in 1994. She was an innovator, bringing many changes to the Chiselers over the years. She was a Past Chairman of the By-Laws Committee and was asked over 15 times to be Parliamentarian to the group. She was also a fierce defender of the traditions of the Chiselers and was not easily swayed with changes. In addition, she served on numerous committees in her 33 years as a member. Her last position was Co-Chair of Boutique, a part of the Chiseler's annual fund-raising market held earlier this month.
Judy and Jack traveled extensively around the Country and always found great shopping, restaurants, and things to see and do. She loved to shop when traveling, especially in New York City. She was an avid antique collector and would go with close friends on day trips all over the Tampa Bay area, having lunch and looking for great buys. She also loved to go to the beach house to relax, get away for some downtime, and be with her family.
She was all about family and friends. She loved her son and his wife, and especially her two grandsons. She was so enthusiastic about them starting college and always interested in what they were doing. She also got so much joy from watching the family dog, Pepper, every Tuesday and Thursday. Her schedule revolved around being with Pepper.
She had lifelong friends that she met with regularly. If you were her friend, it was for life. She was like a sister to so many friends, a one-in-a-million, a great lady and wonderful person to all. She was a dynamic and generous person that was loved, admired, and respected. She never met a stranger and welcomed all who she came in contact with. She will be missed by all who knew her.
The family wants to thank the group at TGH Cardiac ICU for all their extraordinary care and attention to her. They were wonderful.
