It is with great sadness that the family of Juanita Medina White announces her passing, after a brief illness, on January 20, 2018, at the age of 70. She is survived by her beloved blended family: her daughter Anjanette (Ray) Laferriere, her step-daughter Pam Holden, and her step-son James White. She was an adored Grandma and “Lola” to four grandchildren: Marc and James Laferriere, and Elizabeth and Katherine Holden. She is also survived her sisters Nila (Eric) Casey, Mardonia (Dennis) Jones, Erma Taldo, Edith (Lee) Bagnol, and her brother Jose (Dale) Taldo. She will be forever loved by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, coworkers, and dear friends.
Juanita was born in Loboc, Bohol, Philippines to Florencia Medina and Florencio Taldo. She attended Angeles University and worked as a secretary in Angeles City. She moved to the United States in1980 with her husband and the love of her life Jim White. She has made her home in Tampa since 1982.
Juanita worked for the Florida Attorney General for twenty-nine years, rising from an Administrative Secretary to become the Office Manager of the Criminal Appeals Division. In addition to her important work duties, Juanita brought joy to all with her affable personality and heartwarming smile. She was an avid Jazzercise dancer for over 12 years, and her love and laughter will be greatly missed by her Jazzer crew family. She was a friend to everyone who knew her, and will always be remembered for her handmade cards and her considerable cooking skills, especially the cookies and lumpia she lovingly shared.
Juanita is predeceased by her parents, her husband Jim White, her sister Benvieneda Taldo, her brother Nestor Taldo and her son-in-law Tim Holden.
Visitation will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood, 3207 W Bearss Avenue, Tampa, on Thursday, January 25th from 4-8PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Paul Catholic Church
12708 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, on Friday, January 26th at 10:00AM, followed by a graveside service 12:30PM at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell.
