He was born on November 15, 1935 to Luis Perez and Rosa Machado in Santa Clara, Cuba.
He attended the Escuela de Comercio in Santa Clara.
In 1970, after enduring many years of hardship at the hands of the Cuban government, he and his wife left everything they had ever known so that they could provide a better future for their daughter. They lived in New York for 7 years before coming to Tampa.
He retired in 2002 from Borden Dairy and then enjoyed gardening, fishing and being a part of his grandchildren’s lives.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Eneida Perez; daughter Rosario Henni, and her husband Geza; grandchildren Alex, Laura (Kyle) and Sarah; his sister Elena Perez and many nieces and nephews who were very special to him.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Anu and her staff at Aguila Adult Care Center and the Garnet team from Lifepath Hospice for their loving care and compassion.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 11 at 11:00 a.m. at St Lawrence Catholic Church.
