Joyce was born in Baltimore, MD to Lester William Hopkins and Beverly Bernice Gindlesperger on August 30, 1948. She graduated from High School in Glen Burnie, MD before relocating to Ft. Lauderdale, FL and then finally to Lutz, FL.
Joyce is preceded in death by both of her parents, Lester William and Beverly Bernice, as well as her brother Robert Bradley and brothers-in-law William Kirschbaum and Gary Loman.
Joyce is survived by siblings Beverly Jean Kirschbaum, Judy (James) Kolanek, Jackie Loman, Denise (Dennis) Mitchell, and Ronald Bradley, as well as many treasured nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Joyce’s greatest happiness in life was spending time with her family and friends. She truly enjoyed every moment with the special people in her life and there is much about her that will be missed. She was a trusted and adored Sister, a respected and cherished Aunt, a favorite Friend, Neighbor, and Coworker. Joyce could often be depended on to brighten up the room with her cheerful personality, humor, dance moves, and fashion sense. She was a wonderful soul to talk to – an easy spirit that was always fully present in the moment – listening, laughing, thinking, and truly sincere. Her pride and joy in life and most fulfilling accomplishments were the relationships she built and held close to her heart.
Joyce participated in life, lived it her way, lived it well, and lived it to the fullest. While we are deeply saddened by her passing, we know that Heaven has gained another angel and that she is resting in peace with the Lord.
A Memorial service will take place in Maryland at a later date to be determined by family.
