I heard our song yesterday (mother's day), I haven't heard it randomly like that in a long while so I know it was you saying hello.  The kids and I think of you always. You were truly an amazing person and man. It had been maybe 2 years since we last spoke but we've been friends since high school. You always possessed a smile and had a welcoming spirit about yourself. Though no one was ready for you to depart from this side of heaven, I smile knowing you are at peace and that God will unite us all again in heaven. May God continue being with the Campbell family as you all navigate through this difficult time. 

Dear Josh, I never had the privilege of meeting you this side of heaven.  And yet, you are in my heart and prayers.   I know your brother Marshall, and he loves you dearly....and always will.  He has told me about the incredible, wonderful big brother you were to him, an inspiration, and that you encouraged him greatly in wrestling.  He's very PROUD of you, even thru the hard stuff.  I know you have a family who loves you dearly....and that you are gone too young/too soon.  That you really worked super hard to serve this country.

I am beyond grateful that because of Jesus, I will get to meet you in person one day.   And I know on that day, he promises to wipe every tear from our eyes.  Until then, I stand in prayer and support of your beloved family, who miss you and are grieving.  Together we will honor your memory and spirit all the days of our lives. Days... Months... Years. It didn't matter how much time had passed without us speaking...when we got back in touch it was like there was no time missed between us. Talking on the phone for hours, reminiscing back to the days when we only had worries of two thirteen year olds. We talked about everything under the sun and that led to some endless laughter! Every conversation ending positively and eager for the next. Sadly... that next conversation will have to happen alot later than I was expecting.  Josh.. you are one of the most caring, compassionate people I have ever met. You made a positive impact on my life and I will NEVER forget you. A true friend and a class act.  There will never be another like you.

My sweet little brother, my very first friend. I'm so proud of the person you grew up to be. You were the most generous, kindest soul to anyone and everyone you met. You gave anything you had- your time, your money, your heart, whatever you felt someone needed, you gave it. You were full of so much wisdom and continuously threw yourself into books and learning new things, you always inspired me with your greatness. You had an immense love for history, past and current events. You had the silliest sense of humor (silly corn forever) and the most contagious laugh. I'm so thankful for our recent phone conversations, we laughed so hard for hours at a time. I can still hear your laugh so clearly in my mind. It warms my heart. You were the biggest cat lover I've ever known. You just had so much love to give that you also had to share it with all the kittens in the world. I just know that I have the best guardian angel looking down upon me and my babies (and frankie too).. and everyone else you met in this world... because that's the kind of wonderful human that you were.. and I'll always remember you as just that. I love you for always and I'll talk to you often. I know you're listening little brother. Me and the babies know you're watching over us until we all can be together again. ❤️ 🦋 nae nae loves you. 

I miss you cuz!!! There's so many memories and good times we shared. We will always be "down with union crew" (insiders know lol) I've always looked up to you and aspired to be someone you could be proud of. I hope I am doing that for you. I love you cuz! 

I served with Josh. He was like a big brother to me. He set the bar for me not only as a soldier but also as a human being. He showed me not only what a good leader looked like but also a good friend.

Maybe it was because we were born in the same hospital, albeit 22 years apart, but there was a kindred spirit.  I will always cherish our last conversation.  You surprised me, so knowledgeable, so much insight.  I miss you.  I am proud of you for carrying on the Campbell family name with honor and dignity.  One Boot is proud too, I'm sure he will tell you when you see him!

I had the honor of meeting Josh when we went through EGP together. I could tell immediately he was going to be an excellent Soldier and he will still remain a great friend always. I’m going to miss you randomly hitting me up just to say what’s up big sarge. 

He was one of the bravest men I had ever met! He's the reason why most young guys stayed motivated in 4th bat.  Always upbeat but the epitome of a special operations soldier. Josh would go through hells fire to save you if you were wounded. 

Lo, there do I see my father. Lo, there do I see my mother, and my sisters, and my brothers. Lo, there do I see the line of my people, Back to the beginning Lo, they do call to me. They bid me take my place among them, In the halls of Valhalla, Where the brave may live forever!

We remember this day like it was yesterday. Josh was and has always been a light in our lives. Always incredibly supportive, energetic, caring, and compassionate. He may be gone in the physical, but his spirit lives forever. We love you Josh.

Josh it has been 4 weeks since you gained your wings! It’s a total blur, moments are smiling & laughing at all the memories we had and crying  and sobbing! So let me begin! Let me say I remember you needed to be dropped off at the San Antonio base because you were leaving to be in the army and you needed someone to take you and no one could but me! So here goes the story I’m like ooh no I can’t take you that’s too far and Josh is like ooh yes you can and we are arguing back and forth, I’m like Josh I never drove out of town and he’s like well this will be your first and I’m like no it’s like 19 hours away and he starts laughing 😂 mind you I had no idea it was only 3 1/2 hours away and yes im in my early twenties and never traveled because I had babies and so story is I drove packed my kids Josh my mom into my little bumblebee and headed to SATX!  Though on my way back I got lost!! With that said Josh was the one who taught me never to be afraid of destination and how long it can take to enjoy the ride and that’s what I have done ever since! The world is mine! We had so many fun memories especially his impala,he would get it washed and we would listen to “ICE CREAM PAINT JOB” his favorite song and then we go to taco nazo on Fulton and get fajita taco and a Coca Cola! So my beautiful cousin/brother though my heart hurts, I know life is a mystery and we have so many questions but only god knew the pain and hurt, so it will never be goodbye, because the memories will always stay alive and lived each day!
