Josephine N Scionti

Scionti, Josephine Noto(Nana), 97, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 14, 2015. She was born in Tampa to Gaetano Noto and Angelina Mistretta . She was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo (Babe) Scionti of 35 years and son Anthony (Tony ) Scionti. She is survived by Pearl Scionti, wife of Tony; her daughters, Angie Futch (John) and Jennie Scionti; grandchildren, Anthony Scionti (Jennifer), Shannon Beavers (Michael) Jeno Scionti (Robin) Jennifer Christofidis (Michael) and John W. Futch,III; great-grandchildren, Keisha Scionti, Pheylan Scionti, Taylor Beavers, Cabrina Scionti, Jourdan Beavers, Cohen Scionti, Angelo Scionti, Marianna Scionti and James Christofidis and many nieces and nephews. She was a Physical Ed Teacher during the depression, cigarmaker and seamstress. She worked very hard to instill in us Catholic religious values and our Italian heritage. Pallbearers will be Anthony Scionti, Jeno Scionti, Michael Beavers, Michael Christofidis, Luis Aguila, John W. Futch III ,Pheylan Scionti. Honorary Pallbearers will be John W. Futch, Jr. Anthony J. Scionti, Dr. Thomas Noto, Charles Vilardebo, Millie Faucette, Paul Traynham, Steve Diaz. The family will receive friends at Blount & Curry FH 3207 W. Bearss Ave on Fri, Feb. 20 from 6 to 8 PM and funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 2348 Collier Parkway, LOL at 10:30 AM on Sat Feb 21 with burial to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery , 4207 E Lake Ave, Tpa In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 502 St. June Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
