Mr. Joseph Griffin, Sr. "Farmer Joe"

Mr. Joseph Griffin Sr., born September 27, 1933, went home to be with the Lord on September 11, 2023. He was born to Mitchell Griffin Sr. and Estella Griffin (Floyd) in Quitman, Georgia. Joseph was residing in Tampa, Florida during the time of his passing.

Educated in the schools in Orlando, Florida, Joseph graduated from Jones High School. After high school, he completed one year of college and then entered the United States Army. Joseph served 3 years in the Army prior to becoming an entrepreneur. Joseph owned many businesses during his life, but his legacy was Farmer Joe’s Fruit and Produce.

Proceeded in death by his parents, Mitchell Griffin Sr., and Estella Griffin (Floyd), siblings Jessie Griffin, Herman Griffin, Shirley Ruth Reynolds (Griffin), William Henry Griffin, and Mitchell Griffin, and son Sohn Griffin.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 60 years, Frances Griffin; his children: Joseph Jr. and Jomesha Griffin, Caroline (Griffin) and Alphonse Stewart, daughter-in-law Shuntae Griffin; grandchildren: Joseph H. Griffin, Jason K. Griffin, Tavishia L. Griffin, Cristen F. Thomas, Jalesia L. Griffin, Shonecia E. Griffin, Jaliyah K. Griffin, Amiracle Z. Griffin, Sohn Griffin Jr., Savier L. Griffin, and Shemar I. Griffin; His siblings Eugene Griffin and Cornelia Watkins (Griffin), and a host of relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Joseph Griffin Sr., will be held Monday, September 18, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. with a visitation 2 hours prior at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, Florida 33610 with Apostle Mark T. Jones Sr., Pastor, presiding. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
