BRANTLEY, Joseph Edwin "Eddie", 88, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at his home surrounded by his wife, their four sons, and loving family. He was born on July 1, 1927, in Punta Gorda, Florida, to Joseph Sampson and Veda Bernice Brantley. He was raised in Tampa and the surrounding area. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp, worked for 35 years with National Airlines and 9½years with Pan American Airways. After retirement, he returned to the airport to work as a skycap for another 12 years. His love of baseball led him to serve in Elks and Fairoaks Little League as manager, coach, and umpire for 17 years and past president of Robinson High School baseball club and Hillsborough Community College baseball club. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline (Jackie), his four sons, David, Daniel and his wife Connie, Darrell and his wife Barbara, Doug and his wife Julie, his sister Sethlyn, his 12 grandchildren, Jeremy, Melissa and her husband Myron, Christopher, Olivia, Hannah, Caitlyn, Andrea, Kristen, Robert, Daniel, Bryan, and Kevin, and 3 great grandchildren, Mya, Maddox, and Meliyah. Memorial Services will be held at Garden of Memories on Friday, October 30, 2015, and the family will receive friends from 5-7 pm.
